Sunday

Morning: to stock up on all the best local produce, we recommend a trip to the market at Amou - fantastically well stocked and welcoming, the stallholders will give you a taste of the spirit of the Landes. At noon, whether you'd rather have a snack or a hearty local meal, you will be free to choose, sure in the knowledge that there are great places to eat everywhere...

In the afternoon, visit the château de Gaujacq or the Maison de la Dame de Brassempouy for a guided tour, then back to your holiday home.

Monday: Sports day and outdoor activities!

Nearly 50 signposted trails criss-cross the Landes Chalosse countryside, and all have their own walking guides (ask for "topo guides" at the Tourist Office). For water activities, swimming, and just lazing on a beach in the countryside, we suggest a trip to the lake a t Mugron. The more adventurous can ask for one of our excursions in a canoe-kayak at St Sever or Amou.

Tuesday

You have heard about the wines of Chalosse and Tursan, and now it's finally time to discover and appreciate them during a professionally-guided tasting session in the vineyards of the Landes.

For nature lovers and walking enthusiasts, a very pleasant stroll (about 12 km) around Hagetmau leaves from the "Galimbès" square (behind gardens) and follows the stream through the undergrowth to the lake - the Lac dAgès. The route back has some surprises you may have missed on the way there!

In the afternoon, you may like to spend a few moments stroking our furry friends at the Moulin de Poyaller animal park, or perhaps at the Ducazaux discovery park in Donzacq. The kids will be particularly delighted with this idea.

In the evening, in Saint-Sever, a nocturnal visit of the historical town centre plunges you into a medieval atmosphere, both amusing and convivial.

Wednesday

In the hills of Chalosse, in the village of Montfort, the Domaine de Carcher is proud of its museum, a showcase of the strong identity of chalosse in the 19th century - you'll be guided from the house of the Master to the tenant farmer's hovel, and then around the various outbuildings and the lovely garden.

After you've been well-imbued with the local history of Chalosse, it's time to treat your taste buds with some fine restaurants in Montfort, Baigts, Cassen and Gamarde, - some of the best dishes in the region.

In the afternoon, choose between two very different universes, which one is for you? There's a visit to a local craft soap factory, "Casa Nature" in Baigts-en-Chalosse, or the astonishing traditions of the Course Landaise - the local bull running sport, with a visit to the Ganaderia de Maynus in Saint-Sever with its many surprises... a difficult decision!

Thursday: Day out in Tursan

The morning will begin on the "route of the vines" by car, a trip through the vineyards of the Tursan, meeting the growers who make everything happen (ask for more information at the Tourist Office). Above all, don't miss a stopover in the charming village of Pimbo, with its astonishing Collegiate Church, one of many pilgrimage way-points on the road to Santiago de Compostela.

After a lunch break where you'll be free to wander, learn about local ceramics at the famous Samadet faience and tableware museum or, just a few minutes down the road, Angèle Bazin will introduce you to his donkey breeding farm, where asses milk is produced to make natural cosmetic products!

Friday

How about a treasure hunt with the children? There is treasure hidden all over Saint-Sever and Hagetmau... it's up to you to find it!

Peckish? Fancy a pizza, a gourmet lunch or a more traditional menu, a picnic perhaps... you will find your heart's desire at St Sever or in the "green town" of Hagetmau.
