Elvire de la Chesney du Parc, like her cousin Armande, is passionate about contemporary art. Gabin, her husband, would like to stay out of it. Gabin's brother Antoine is alarmed to learn that Elvire is under the influence of Sicari, a prominent gallery owner whom he suspects of being a swindler!
