André de Mounten, a retired naval officer who died earlier this year, and his wife Clémence bought this old house in 1914. Their children grown up, they lived happily with their maid Victoire Collin in the Béarn countryside.
On October 25, 1920, Clémence was found dead on the château's walkway.
